Recession Hits Maj

Well guys,

after working for a company for more than two years now, looks like enough is enough. The recession has found me once more. Today I went into work to find I was Fired..!

I have a three month Notice period in which I prepare to find work, take a small cash sum or go on benefits if I cant find any work ( Its harder for a Yorkshireman). Or I will be going on the "Dole"..? >>>> Duh - of which I have never claimed before in my life, I have always worked and stood for my own ground. And this habit isn't going to stop, theres always a way through the battlefield, always a path, a shimmering light to aid you...

This could be an opportunity for me, a blessing in disguise or it could be more stress to a hell I have already found.

Its too early to really see how this will effect me and the life I hopw to lead, but at least you guys know.

In all my years of change, the only stable thing I have ever had is SB - us , The 7th Barrier Clan..!

I have moved and been employed more times than SB has had new websites lol....

Yep Id just been to the other end of the country for a job we needed to do, spent a day before in the Hague for a Hilton Hotel were doing 200 rooms for, then the Friday morning they asked me into the Directors office and Im thinking - ermm,,, did I do anything wrong..?

They sit me down and tell me Im fired - along without 4 more guys from my Interiors Team (guys I work with) - which means no more MDF fabricated boxes to make for any laymen out there > thus closing down the Interiors team totally..! I said to them if anything, I understand why its happening but could they not have waited till the new year and have let us have a good Christmas instead of having to worry about it and wrroy and think about what our close future holds. It was rather a sad time but no time is good for bad news.

The good news is, that they are setting up a Social Plan - to help me get new work and they have employed a specialised employment agency to help us. I am also asking that they send me on a Dutch Course so that I can have a better chance of getting a job - times like this I must do as much as I can to convince any future employer or client that Im working towards things with my Dutch.

Truth is, the negativity within the working environment and work place recently wasnt that good and tbh Im a bit reliefed to get out of it - the manager and the supervisor where just trying to get me down - everyone knows Im a nice guy and haing people see two guys get onmy case was obvious - tossers, but I worked on and around it, EPIC FAILL to them. Okay my name is on the list but totally there been about 12 people or so who have had to leave or have been fired from the production element. You see the company can still get work, but farm it out to other manufacturers in the area so they can down size the production. Some of these guys didnt have a contract that I was on - al they did was tell these poor bastards that theres no new contract coming - when times up, good bye.! Shame eh.

Its funny really I was telling them in the office after I came back from the states (USA) early this yera that the recession was on the way. In which they laughed at me and said it wont effect us. But being a worldlly travler and wiser man for it - I knew what the knock on effects, especially knowing that the company has many USA "providers". That just shows you how stupid and how deep their heads where stuck in the sand / arses.

Anyhoo, maj aint that upset about it - everyone has said that out of everyone whos been fired, that Im the most positive - its been rubbing off lolz. I suppose thats just my SB training really. Never giving in, never giving up and doing me very best till my final moment..!

In a few months time I got a relevantion - nothing biblical Ino - lol... but Im working on plan...

So boys - keep on moving..!!!

Back to work for me on Monday though - I got about three months Notice because of my Contract, giving me time to do things. I not really stressed , just about everybody who has left the company in the last year or so have all gone to better jobs..!

As for the internet, me lass is working it out. At first she thought we could just hook it up but theres only one slot, so we got to do it another way now, which is fine but I wish I would have known earlier. So next month we get a wireless and me hopes thats okay. I hate wires around the house and its someting to keep in mind for my games room (which as not been worked on cos I got my orders too ) Im just glad I got her a PSP for xmas - cos she can then stream stuff and use the internet through her psp and our PS3 > thus encouraging her to help me get it set up good... But yeah this is a real drag tbh, I was hopeing to have been back online way sooner than this. You all are doing great though and we got a new slate for the new year.

Has regards to Glasses - if you go to the bar and there a large head of foam on your beer like the Dutch like it lol - then you say to the barlady "Can you please put me a VodKa in that for me"- When she say yes - you then say - "If theres room for Vodka - the theres room to top it up love"..!

No matter how empty or full it is, there always room for improvement..!

you only got one phone/BB port Maj? Couldn't you get a Netgear wireless hub or something. Or you saying thats what you just figured out?

Nah, unfortunately we cant give you access if your not in still, canonfodder was the leader for a long time and recently left, and he still only has access to a few areas so we can communicate when he wants

But yeah :/ Can ask neall to move it into mad house if you want?
