| Can anyone reccomend a headset (like sound whoring one lol) which can play both x360 and ps3, preferably cheap lol? Also if anyone has one which they could sell, which does both, could I buy it off them? | |

| I got a tritton surround sound headest for the PS3... It also works / has attachments for PC and Xbox tbh. Its okay but the mic bit has snapped off inside. I can still use it but its restriction on movement didnt help. There are lights on the headset, which is good to find them in a dark smokey room when youve had a few merry beers and need to get back in the action fast. Im sorta looking for another model tbh. The thing is with some people the mic is clear and with others its not, I think its all connection based on how you get the quality. They are comfortable and easy to set up. The best thing about them is you can plug them into your exsisting surround sound unit and have both external sound effects in your room and more refined sounds in your headset > amazing..! So make sure you have blue tooth mic on hand just in case your mic gets funny or chocky with peeps. maj Whos got any links to the others - exclude Xbox ones kk | |

| lol Sil. Swiping them from Matt broke his heart.
Best headset's IMO are:-
1) Astro's 2) Sharkoon V3 Xtactic [What I reviewed] 3) TBHPX with Astro Mix amp [Hybrid, but works insane)
Then close behind are Tritton's, A very good headset but very unreliable Steelseries [newer 3d ones], Good but cant touch the top3

| Would the TBHPX do both ps3 and xbox? But im also guessin to get the hybrid you have to have the astro mix amp already lol, which obviously I dont have... or can you buy them seperate? | |

| You can buy them seperate, and as it all runs through the mixamp it should [although I haven't tested it] work on both with no problems x | |

| Ah right, cheers. The headset isn't actually that much, only like £60... How much is the mix amp though? Jus had a quick look and they're like £90 :/ Might see if I can get any second hand for less if they are that much lol, or just buy the PX1's. | |

| If you want a headset which is easily set up just get the turtle beach as that is their main selling point, no amps or anything. I would avoid the new steilseries headsets as the original was made by a hedset company the newer ones were made by steilseries themselves who make mouses.
PS: I got this info from a thread on consolegaming mw2 section, I'd check it out.

| Right... The PX1, that works on both ps3 and xbox yeah? and then the x1 works on both of them too, if you buy a sound card for it?
are there any other differences at all?
EDIT: between sharkoons and px1/x1s... is the extra £50 really worth it :/?

| PX1= X1 with the amingo sound card
to use the X1 with the ps3 you need a USB sound card which is the only difference between the two headsets

| Got the X1s today... Playing with atm, seem absolutely beasty tbh haha, which does make me wonder how good the others are... Think I made the right choice cause I ended up paying nout, whereas if I got ones for more i would have haha.
LOVE them atm lol. played like 6 snds, been playing really well in them, and got a 1v3 clutch which was purely by them tbh on one of them cause i sound whored 2 out of the 3 haha, wouldnt have stood a chance with normal tv sound...

| Yeah,
definately surround sound headsets do help you out - no doubt..! YOu can get the drop on peeps, cos a tv only throws it out front left and right even with simulated surround sounds = thus these new headests set the bar a tad higher and are more precise in locating where the noise is coming from. I put mine on for BF:BC the other day and the explosions far away really sounded real..! The echos in the houses and the shots outside add another layer to the gaming experience - one not to be missed.!!! My fav is Killzone still, as you get to hear the wind and your boots as they hit diferent surfaces. Shame theres not a snow level...
I loved em with COD4 and going silent in everything - and just slowly working my way around the map and taking in the info. I suppose this time ( MW2) you can go silent with your snipers too..! Will be awesum for publics..!

| i got turtlebeach X41, you can use them for sound on both but the mic only works on 360. They're awesome qualty sound although every couple of minutes you get a discreet pop. Nothing to complain about but can put some off. | |

| yeah cos the headsets are designed for 360's not PS3's so to use the microphone on PS3 you need a USB sound card, You can still use them for the audio without the sound card..
Thats why they released the P21 a headset that is designed for PS3...
