PS3 got fucked

My Ps3 has YLOD (Yellow Light Of Death) and the worst bit about it is my fucking mw2 disc is stuck inside

I guess i will be buying ps3 slim and breaking my old ps3 to get mw2 back =P

And sorry guys won't be online for a while to play with you

dam, thats bad news, happend to me and a few others too from SB.

TBH dont break your PS3 - send it back to the shop. ASAP .!!

My advice is simple: if you get a new PS3 keep all the paper work and buy a new MW2 because it will take months before you get your disc back. So buy one second hand if you can or borrow one for a long time.lol

PS: When I took mine back ( had it ages) I insisted I have the same model one back (PS2 compatable - original model) and I left a wee letter inside saying: ILOVE MY PS3 PLEASE FIX HER..!

Yeah take it back to the shop worms with your proof of purchase and under the 1974 sales of goods act you have the right for up to 6 years to return and get your product repaired/replaced/money back

This will work but the retailer will drag it out as long as possible to stop you but keep pressuring them and you will get one for the above all for free

U tried force eject for the disk?

Forgotten how to do it, but search around on the net and theres a way to do a force eject on a YLOD ps3, sometimes works, sometimes doesnt, it worked for me but apparently its like 50/50.

I managed to get mw2 out the normal eject way and will take my ps3 to repair and if the repair will cost above 50£+ i will just buy ps3 slim

Ps3 slim should have less problem because of low energy consumption meaning less heat created which why you get ylod and improvent ventilation system

I had my original one for about two or so years before it went funny. So take it back mate and save yaself some dosh - unless you really just want a new Slim PS3..?

Don't have time playing tug wars with shops for ps3 and yes my ps3 went funny after 2 years..how strange.... my warrenty of 2 years expired so don't want to argue about some old acts as reason to fix my ps3 and even if they would fix for free that would take 8 weeks lol that way too much for this no lifer =P


PS: i realy do one ps3 slim now cause i know it won't break after 2 years again

a mate irl of mine and my ps3 both broke at pretty much the same time, infact just a week apart, and we bought them at pretty much the same time too.. musta been 2 years aswell?

It does seem to be a trend where the ps3's breakdown after 2 years of normal use this is probably sufficient time for the lead free solder on the motherboard to become brittle eventually breaking and causing components to malfunction

yer it is very timed with the time that the warrenty runs out to when the ps3 brakes but thats prop planed.

I believe that they have extended warranty for all PS3's. So check it out.

2 days after saurons PS3 broke mine also went YLOD

still got my first 1 and only 60gb release version. just hope it wont... (u know)

Update:

Ps3 was fixed but new problem appeared like bluetooth don't work and internet does not connect to my ps3 and i return to them to fix again

hoping to be back this week hopefully

I bought a new one about two weks ago. thats when mine broke. Tbh its best just to buy a new one, new parts better reliability, I hope.

Other update:Good and the bad

Bad: My ps3 was pronouced by the repair people as unfixable due to some chip in ps3 don't work and need replacemnet which means alot of money

Good:50% refund of 50£ which is 25£ and since it does work without internet and bluetooth i will use it downstare as blueray player to watch movies and since i had massive hd tv downstares and will be buying ps3 tomorrow and i will see you tomrrow on ps3 =)

Who can grumble at that good news then...

dude, when my ps3 broke down i was without it for over 4 weeks, everyday i thought of just buying a new one instead of waiting for the replacement, yes i'm an addict so bite me
