I have the internet back. Was booting up Mw2 after playing Dead Space and BOOM. PS3 switches itself off and when you go to switch it on the dread flashing red light.

LOL i might write a guide now on how to claim a free ps3 back from the retailer you brought it from.

This definitely works in the UK not sure about other countries,

Basically every good brought in the UK is covered up to 7 years after purchase, the law states within reason (A ps3 dieing after normal usage in 2 years is within reason compared to a light bulb that breaks after 2 years)

*TO DO THIS YOU NEED PROOF OF PURCHASE*

Go back to the retailer with the console and proof of purchase and say you want to return the console under the sales of goods act as amended 1973, the person behind the counter will not have a clue and try and pass you off so remain polite and ask them to ring their legal department to find out you are right, the law allows the retailer to ask for a report as proof of the request been within reason but as when the console is opened you have broken your "contract" with Sony you will have to point out that the only people qualified to give a valid report on the console is Sony themselves who are going to give you i biased report, from there if the retailer refuses to accept the console back you must then threaten them with legal action as they are then breaking your statutory rights as a customer then once they realize you are correct the law requires the retailer to either, reimburse the money at purchase back, repair or replace your console as part of the return
